Does nature matter to you? Become a co-organiser of the Nature Festival

The ninth annual Nature Festival focuses on the beauty and wildlife of gardens. It will take place from 7 to 11 June. Proposals from co-organisers are accepted until 31 March.

The Nature Festival invites people to appreciate the diversity of urban nature as a habitat, to notice nature in the city and to promote habits that promote biodiversity. This year, five days will focus on the beauty of gardens and wildlife, with events across Estonia.

Co-organisers' suggestions and ideas for the Nature Festival programme are being accepted until 31 March. All organisers who have been involved in previous years are welcome to co-organise events and new partners are welcome. You can submit your ideas and suggestions by contacting Kaarin Hein, Festival Project Manager.

This year's theme will help to highlight the uniqueness of each garden - no matter how big it is, the value of a garden can be something else - a garden can be our nourishment or our enjoyment, but also a place where nature is preserved. The festival will focus on both public and private gardens and the treasures they hold, especially natural wildlife. The theme of this year's Nature Festival is inspired by the 220th anniversary of the University of Tartu Botanical Garden, Estonia's most species-rich garden.

The main organiser of the festival is the University of Tartu Natural History Museum and Botanical Garden, and the events are organised by partners all over Estonia. The Nature Festival has been organised since 2015. It is part of the European Capital of Culture Tartu 2024 programme. It is supported by the Environmental Investment Centre and Tartu 2024.
